hello

i never tell you about the stuff i do but whatever

i had a fun weekend

here are things i did

thursday

drove up to baltimore to buy something from a friend then stay with my girlfriend

had a terrible time driving in baltimore

bought something from a friend

had an even worse time driving, got irrationally angry and kept driving worse

got angry enough to know i will be shitty to be around, texted girlfriend that i was going home and apologized

drove home

did not stop being mad and slept for a long time

friday

carolyn picked me up after she was done teaching

i finished packing and we left

we picked up beach sloth somewhere outside his apartment

we started driving and talked the whole time, it was very fun

carolyn and i traded driving partway through

when we got somewhere around boston i started to slip into city driving mode again so i traded back with carolyn

the roads out there are fucking stupid. weird-ass intersections and sometimes you're like "i think every light at this intersection is green"

we got to elaine's, maggie was there

we hung out for a little bit then went to bed

i won't say elaine lives in a dorm

we had an unoccupied room with a big ol air mattress and a twin bed

there was a hole in the ceiling and bits of paper on the floor

i found it odd and remembered that i'm used to way worse back in indiana

this amused me and i fell asleep

saturday

now i'm beginning to forget things

the moment i woke up i asked carolyn what we were doing today and then stated my intentions of eating a lot of seafood

will came at some point then we went to get lunch at some point

i had an omelette with crab and tomato and some kind of cheese

it was really good but expensive

we walked to the train station and elaine left to do homework and we got on a train and maggie stayed on when the 4 of us got off at harvard square because she was meeting friends

i realized i don't like going to the campuses of schools i don't or didn't attend

i stated my intentions of stealing something from harvard

we walked around the edge of campus for a sec

i grabbed a little vinyl flag that was sticking in the dirt for some sort of landscaping purpose

i said i would write HARVARD SUX on it and then waved it around for the rest of the day

we walked around a little mall with a bunch of kitschy/needless shops in it

we bought CDs at this one store to have music for the car ride home

carolyn bought rap CDs she loved like 10 years ago and i bought dad rock

we saw a little rubber stamp that was the Like button on facebook and thought it would be funny to send to jackson

i bought a korean cookbook at a store selling various japanese/"japanese" goods

beach sloth and will bought ramune sodas

i didn't remember they are called ramune until just now

oh i forgot. we did most of this looking around because i wanted to buy a pillow (i forgot a pillow, blanket, and towel. what an idiot) but it was also just browsing about as well

we went to the harvard coop because i had to use the bathroom

we got back on the train/subway/whatever the fuck they call theirs there and went to park street

we walked around a lot there

we went to a graveyard and saw some really badass graves with like stylized skulls on the tops

i kept wishing that was still the norm

carolyn tweeted a "particularly brutal" one

we went to quincy street market or something like that

the stores all had really expensive stuff

i still couldnt find a throw pillow or something dumb to use

i saw a stuffed lobster that was large enough to use as a pillow and it was fifty god damn dollars

sorry champs i do not need a pillow that badly

maggie showed up

i bought a corkscrew for my friends who lost theirs from the Cheers store below the dumb knockoff bar

i also bought a cheap bic lighter there

we went to a christmas store

i forgot how much i hate christmas stores until like 15 seconds of being in there when the cacophony of bells and shit that ornaments play now just hit me like a wave

marshall showed up

we went to a hard rock cafe partially because i wondered if theyd have a dumb throw pillow in the shape of a guitar but mostly because the idea entertained me

we saw the guitar owned by the guitarist of powerman 5000 and i immediately felt like i made the right decision in coming in

we stood outside for too long to be hearing hard rock cafe music so we walked back towards the other shops

we saw an abercrombie & fitch and carolyn kept suggesting i go in there

after several minutes i walk up to the door and open it

this cologne smell just punches me in the face

i stopped in my tracks and backed up and closed the door

beach sloth also tried it

we walked back to park street

we saw a little mall-type building and went in but it was just like a champs, a headshop, and a food court

some people used the bathroom and we exited

there was a macy's across the street but elaine texted that she was on her way so i ran in there and grabbed a pillow then thought "well i'm already in a department store, might as well get a pillowcase for it too" because i knew i didnt have any extras at home

they were too expensive and i had a massive bulky bag

elaine showed up

we walked to chinatown

we walked until we were standing by a line and elaine pointed out the restaurant

we noticed that both times she took us to restaurants, there were lines outside

this was funny

she put her name down for a table and we walked to a liquor store

we grabbed stuff quickly but the guy behind the counter took forever with every customer

he would stare us down and re-re-recheck our IDs

it probably did not help that the first person up had braces

we finally got back to the restaurant after like half an hour

it was tiny and crowded and all the food looked really good

the menu had tons of stuff and it all sounded good to me

people contemplated sharing food vs eating it all

i ordered the crab with ginger and scallions and some kimchee

the kimchee was good

it was crisper than i'm used to

the crabs were just scooped out and quartered, but the meal only came with a spoon

i used elaine's fork to dig out meat and stuff

i probably ate more crab brains than i did crab meat

it was extremely good but i made a mess and felt self-conscious until i got too hungry

we walked back to the station then took it back to elaine's stop and walked to her home

buttercup mcgillicuddy was in his car when we got there

he brought his friend

we all go inside

sunday

i wake up feeling like garbage

carolyn says that we're going to brunch

i ask her to let me sleep then ask if there was any mountain dew left because i always want soda immediately upon waking hungover

she says yes then offers to get it for me

buttercup brings me a mountain dew instead of carolyn

i take a sip and go back to sleep

i remember that the pillow i bought was the best god damn pillow i'd ever slept on and i was extremely grateful to past shaun for picking it up

i wake up a bunch of times but get up when i hear everyone come back

i get dressed and think about a shower and realize i don't have time for one and will regret it all day

will marshall maggie and buttercup's friend were already gone when i got up

we throw everything in the car

we hug elaine goodbye

carolyn, beach sloth, buttercup, and i pile into carolyn's car

we stop by buttercup's brother's apartment in boston to say hi

we meet a couple other people they knew

we have a hard time getting out of boston because vznavigator is total garbage and should not exist

i use the last of my phone battery to use google maps to get us where we need to go

we all talk for a long time while carolyn and i drive

i ate 2 hot dogs and a few cheese fries during this trip

i was accosted for "gas money" by the same man twice who didn't remember asking me when we were at a gas station

carolyn drops beach sloth off

carolyn drops buttercup and i off at my house

we talk for a while

i loan him my laptop for to internet

i come upstairs and realize i can't shower because it'll wake up my roommates

i go to my room and write this.

everyone i met was the fucking shit and i had a badass time 10/10 would party rock again
